What Are Single Tooth Implants and Bridges?

Single tooth implants and bridges are excellent solutions for repairing damaged or missing teeth in specific areas.
  • Natural Appearance: Both options provide a realistic look that blends seamlessly with your existing teeth.
  • Effective Chewing: They restore solid, natural chewing function, making eating enjoyable and effortless.
  • Secure Attachment: Implants and bridges are attached securely and permanently, ensuring stability.
  • Bone Preservation: Implants significantly reduce bone loss that can occur after the removal of a natural tooth.
  • Preservation of Adjacent Teeth: Unlike traditional bridges, implants do not negatively impact surrounding teeth.

How it Works

A dental implant is a titanium screw that serves as the foundation to replace a tooth or teeth.
There are 3 parts to a dental implant:
  • Implant Post (or Body): This serves as the foundation and is inserted into the jawbone to act as an anchor for the dental restoration.
  • Abutment: This component connects the implant post to the crown, providing a stable link between the two.
  • Crown: This is the visible part of the implant that fits into the mouth. It can also be part of an implant bridge that spans multiple implants.

Dental Implant Timeline

The process typically takes 5-6 months from start to finish.

1

Place the implant body and allow 4 months for it to integrate with the jawbone.

2

Uncover the implants and allow the gums to heal and adjust to the correct shape for 2 weeks.

3

We take impressions and send them to an external lab for the fabrication of the abutment and crown. This process typically takes 3-4 weeks.

4

Place abutment and crown.
